An Open Letter To Horse Show Moms

Dear Horse Show Moms,

As a collective voice of riders everywhere, we want to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you for being there through thick and thin, supporting our passion for horses and equestrian sports. We know that being a show mom is not an easy task, and we appreciate all the time, effort, and love you have invested in our journeys.

Thank you for the countless hours spent driving us to lessons, shows, and meetings. We know that it takes a lot of juggling to manage a mom's schedule, and you never once complained. Your dedication and commitment to making sure we have the opportunity to pursue our love for horses does not go unnoticed.

Thank you for watching our lessons, even if you had to close your eyes before every jump. Your presence meant more to us than you know, and your support and encouragement motivated us to keep trying, even on rough days. Your words of praise and acknowledgement of our achievements, no matter how small, meant the world to us.

Thank you for always making sure we had food on show days. We know that time can be scarce during competitions, and it's easy to skip meals. But there you were, with a bag of snacks or taking us to food vendors in between classes to ensure we had the energy to perform our best.

Thank you for teaching us the value of hard work. You instilled in us the importance of dedication, perseverance, and responsibility through our equestrian pursuits. Household chores were measured in lessons and you encouraged us to take part-time jobs to help fund our passion. Though there may have been times of resentment, looking back, we now realize that those real-world experiences have equipped us with valuable skills for our adult lives.

Thank you for all the early mornings and late nights. On horse show days, you were up at 4 a.m. with a cup of coffee in hand, making sure we had everything we needed. And when something was inevitably forgotten, you were always there to find a solution. Your organizational skills and attention to detail kept us on track and prepared, and we are grateful for your unwavering support.

Thank you for being our shoulder to cry on. The equestrian world can be tough, and we faced disappointments and setbacks along the way. But you were always there with a comforting presence, wiping away our tears and helping us focus on the positives. You taught us that success is not just defined by ribbons but by the lessons we learn and the character we build.

Thank you for learning about the horse world. Even though you're not a horse person yourself, you lead those big creatures with a brave face and always had an apple on hand. Those laughs we had together are something I will never forget.

And above all, thank you for just being there. Your unwavering support, through wins and losses, highs and lows, provided us with the motivation and confidence to pursue our dreams. Your love, encouragement, and presence have been instrumental in our equestrian journeys, and we are grateful beyond words.

So, to all the amazing show moms out there, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation and say thank you. Behind every blue ribbon is a show mom who made it all possible. We love you, and we are forever grateful for your love, dedication, and support.

Sincerely,

Equestrians Everywhere
