Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: How do I measure my horse?
A: If your horse stands quietly, you can measure it by yourself; if not, you may wish to ask for someone's help to perform the following. Using a tape measure, start at the center of the horse's chest, proceeding parallel to the ground, measure around the widest part of the shoulder all the way to the CENTER of the tail. Round up to the nearest even number (i.e. if the horse measures a 79 it is an 80) A cloth tape measure similar to those used by tailors are preferable to metal tape measures since they are quiet and conform to the curves of the horse better.
