Meet our Equestrians @ Large Riders

Kristin Schmolze

Kristin Schmolze has been fortunate to train with some of the best coaches the equestrian world has to offer. An avid rider from an early age, her coaches include long-time trainer and friend, Marilyn Payne (world renowned judge who officiated the 2008 Olympic Games in Bejing), Olympic team member Stephen Bradley, Olympic silver medalist Kim Severson, and her current trainer, Olympic gold medalist Phillip Dutton.

Kristen Parris

Kristen received her first horse, Bayberry at the age of 10, and started showing by the age of 11. Not until later in her riding did she discover eventing.  Kristen was an active member of Pony Club from 1995 until she graduated from RedlandHunt Pony Club in 2009. She credits her breakthrough into eventing to her horse A Deck Above. Kristen climbed the levels of eventing with Decker and successfully competed up to Training level in Eventing.

Niki Clarke

From the beginning Niki Clarke wanted to make her passion for horses a part of her career. Beginning as a young Eventer, Niki trained under exceptional Three-day Eventers Amy Barrington and the O’Connors. Her dedication and will to improve herself earned Niki a quick rise to numerous Eventing successes and accolades--one of those numerous accolades being long listed for the Sydney Olympics. In 2004 Niki decided to pursue a career in her main passion: dressage. Once deciding upon this career change, Niki traveled to Holland for 6 months to train under Bert Rutten. Niki began working with Kathleen Raine and David Wightman in California, content to establish her career here. Photo by: Terry Miller

Dawn Powell

Dawn Powell got her start in the equestrian world showing English, Western, and Hunter horses as a child. Looking for an equine career with an adrenaline rush, Dawn started actively barrel racing in rodeos 8 years ago. Dawn attributes her successes to her training program that stems from her diverse horse background growing up.  When she found her main mount, Honest Ambition “HAM” as a 3 year off the Quarter Horse racetrack, she knew she had something special.

Buck Davidson

Buck Davidson has dominated the United States Eventing Association leaderboard the last few years, earning the top rider honor, four out of five times including 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Each year he competes between 30 to 50 different horses in the USA. In 2016, in the FEI World Eventing Rankings, Buck was ranked as 30th
