We've had several customers ask why we have opted to design many of our turnouts with one surcingle and fixed elastic leg straps. And we're glad you've asked.
Our traditional style turnouts possess a unique surcingle/leg strap system that is more durable. By not positioning the leg straps on the edge of the garment, but more toward the garments center it is more difficult for your horse to tear the garment. There is also less chance of a strap getting caught when it is positioned higher on the garment and remains closer to the horse..
Also, by sewing the leg straps into the body of the garment, we have eliminated the need for additional bulky hardware (d rings and buckles) and the possibility of having a leg strap lost out in the pasture.
