I have one set that is around 20 years old! And they are still in good shape!
I have used 'Saratogas' by themselves and as wraps over something else -- on dressage horses, jumpers and of course, event horses.
The material allows air to get through; the velcro is just about the best I've seen. The bandages stay in one place and offer really good protection.
The only warning: it can take some time to get used to just how much stretch/tightness you want, compared to regular leg wraps. I have everyone here wrap them around their onw lower legs once or twice before using them on the legs of our precious horses. I'm smiling as I write this, but this is a fast, effective way to KNOW how much you wanto tighten the wrap.
